We created this page with cool stuff to share. Like what happens around The Pink House, articles or newsreels that we think are particularly informative or interesting.
(Please Note: this list is most certainly NOT all inclusive, as The Pink House Fund is very new, very small, and sometimes overwhelmed. Unlike, large or national organizations that have full-time staff to manage donations, Thank You’s, and fundraising events, etc., our organization does not – so thank you for your patience and forgiveness as we do our best in our unique situation.)
In June 2021, The Pink House Fund was approached by the super amazing people at The Victory Garden Collective who made this print to raise funds for the clinic with 100% of the proceeds going to the Abortion Fund. While The Collective told us they were moved by the director of the clinic Shannon Brewer’s Op-ed published on June 9th in the New York Times, here at The Pink House, we have been moved.
We would like to publicly thank the folks of the VICTORY GARDEN COLLECTIVE: Louise Eastman, Jess Frost, Tara Geer, Katie Michel, Wendy Small, and Janis Stemmermann for sending love and support from Brooklyn, NY to Jackson, Mississippi.
We’re Mississippi’s Last Abortion Clinic, and We’re Braced for the Worst
6-9-2021 GUEST ESSAY The New York Times
Ms. Brewer is the clinic director at Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the only abortion clinic in Mississippi.
Talk about a group of BadA$* people supporting Reproductive Justice, check out NOISE FOR NOW: “a national initiative that enables performers to connect with and financially support grassroots organizations that work in the field of Reproductive Justice including abortion access. NOISE FOR NOW is the link between touring musicians, progressive promoters, and local reproductive rights organizations in cities across the country.”
NOISE FOR NOW has shown up for patients seeking abortion care in Jackson, Mississippi, and we think that’s super cool.
